Hi, I’m Rachid Khouri.

I’ve been using AutoCAD since 1992, and for more than three decades I’ve worked with CAD software in engineering, architecture, manufacturing, construction, and technical drafting environments.
During that time, I’ve trained thousands of students, technicians, designers, engineers, and CAD professionals through classroom training, online courses, technical documentation, and practical workshops.
I created CADfixes.com for one simple reason: AutoCAD users waste far too much time searching for solutions to problems that should be easy to fix.
If you use AutoCAD regularly, you’ve probably experienced it yourself. The software suddenly becomes slow. A DWG file won’t open. A fatal error appears out of nowhere. Your dimensions disappear. Plotting stops working. Or AutoCAD crashes right before an important deadline.
When these problems happen, finding a clear answer is often harder than fixing the problem itself.
That’s why I built CADfixes.com.
My goal is simple: help AutoCAD users solve problems quickly and get back to work.
My AutoCAD Journey
I started working with AutoCAD in the early 1990s and have used it through countless versions, projects, technologies, and industry changes.
Over the years, I’ve worked with professionals from many different fields, including:
- Architecture
- Engineering
- Manufacturing
- Construction
- Industrial design
- Technical drafting
I’ve also spent much of my career teaching AutoCAD and developing training materials for students and professionals who wanted to improve their skills and become more productive.
One lesson I’ve learned is that most AutoCAD problems are not as complicated as they first appear. In many cases, the solution is a simple setting, system variable, command, or workflow that most users never knew existed.
Why I Created CADfixes.com
After helping AutoCAD users for many years, I noticed the same pattern over and over again.
Someone would spend hours searching forums, watching videos, or reading incomplete articles, only to discover that the fix required a single command or a small configuration change.
Many troubleshooting resources are filled with technical jargon, outdated information, or endless discussions that never provide a clear solution.
I wanted to create a different kind of resource.
CADfixes.com focuses on practical troubleshooting guides that explain:
- What caused the problem
- Why it happens
- How to fix it step by step
- How to prevent it from happening again
No unnecessary filler. No confusing explanations. Just solutions that work.

My Mission
Every day, AutoCAD users search for answers to questions like:
- Why is AutoCAD so slow?
- Why does AutoCAD keep crashing?
- Why won’t my DWG file open?
- Why are my dimensions not showing?
- Why can’t I plot correctly?
- Why can’t I select objects?
My mission is simple:
